CMU Baseball 7 Toledo 3.

CMU Baseball took on the Toledo Rockets today at Theunissen Stadium in game 2 of a 3 game weekend series.

CMU won the game 7-3, and moves to 5-3 in MAC play. Patrick Kaminska got the start, went 7 1/3 innings, gave up 4 hits and only allowed 2 ER. He was Ble to keep the Toledo hitters off balance, mixing primarily a fastball from 85-89 and a slider from 76-80. He had excellent command of the slider, throwing it both as get-me-over strikes, as well as burying it down and away from RH hitter to induce swing and misses.

Lefty Ryan Longstreth came on in the 8th inning with the bases loaded and 1 out, worked around an error to escape the jam, protecting a 5-3 lead. CMU tacked on 2 more runs in the bottom of the 8th, and Streth shut the door in the 9th to give CMU the series win.

CMU spread the offense around, collecting hits from nearly everyone in the lineup. I don't have all of the stats in front of me, but will update this post when they become available.

CMU looks to sweep the series from Toledo tomorrow at 1:05 at Theunissen Stadium on Easter Sunday.

(I believe) Rick Dodridge will get the start for CMU, as they look to move to 6-3 in the MAC.
