Trey Burke Reportedly Declares for NBA Draft

As the title says, CBS is reporting that Michigan PG Trey Burke is forgoing his remaining 3 years of college eligibility and will declare for the NBA draft in the coming minutes, hours, days, etc.  Obviously, this would be a gigantic blow to the Michigan basketball team, who many consider a favorite to repeat as B1G Champs next year and potentially make a deep run in the tournament.  All of those predictions go out the window should Burke really leave, of course.

Michigan is dangerously thin at the PG position to begin with following the transfer of backup PG Carlton Brundridge.  It was OK though, considering Burke was a freshman All-American and had the position locked down.  If the rumors are true, Belien will be scrambling to find a off-the-radar recruit to bring in at the PG position.

Should Burke leave, your Michigan basketball starting 5 and key bench players next year will probably look something like this:

PG: Name that Freshman/Eso Akunne
SG: Tim Hardaway Jr./Nick Stauskus
SF: Glenn Robinson III/Max Bielfeldt
PF: Mitch McGary/?
C: Jordan Morgan/Jon Horford

Please Trey, stay?
